September Slam
I have had the enjoyment to hit the water lately with good friend Chris and his newly purchased Gheenoe for some exploratory trips. With Sept coming to an end and water tempts taking a dip for the better, the bite has not fallen anything but short. Making the hour runs to new water has been the ticket lately even though some of the old hot spots are still producing quality fish.
Relaxing and enjoying the long calm morning rides in the park
Guided Chris on this fish that was tailing hard and oblivious to us stand feet from him. Fish tailed hard and the fly before I gave the word to strike.
It is was my turn on the bow and made quick work of my time up there. As you can see I was not focusing on the picture. Had my next target lined up tailing hard feet from us.
Ever wonder what reds eat?… Well I do… Found this huge toad fish in a reds belly after harvesting one. Pretty interesting and opens the idea for a new fly pattern…
Been a few of these mixed in the fun…
Mine didn’t quite make it… not the happiest camper but I’m sure the huge lemon shark was.
Lots of these guys around…
